Doha: TAFAWOQ, a partnership among Qatar Shell, QatarEnergy and Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is focused on developing the competencies of project management professionals to deliver Qatar’s extraordinary capital investment projects in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Tafawoq, which is the Arabic for ‘excellence’, is a fully accredited Association for Project Management (APM) training provider.

Bader Al-Jaidah, Director of TAFAWOQ, said, “Qatar’s unparalleled capital investment programme currently underway brings with it various project management challenges. Through TAFAWOQ, Qatar Shell is helping to train professionals across the country to tackle these challenges head-on.”

The most recent round of training included courses on the essentials of project management, contributing to projects, applying project controls, and effective project contracting.

Among the participants were representatives from QatarEnergy, Qatar Gas, Ras Gas, ASTAD Project Management, Oryx, Kuwait Oil, Qatar Airways, and Qatar Shell.

Since its inception in 2012, TAFAWOQ has graduated more than 800 professional students.

TAFAWOQ courses include virtual learning, work-based activities and face-to-face training based on the internationally recognised and accredited Shell Project Academy “Pentagon model” ensuring industry professionals receive both executive education and ongoing competence development support.
