Shell Rimula R4 MV offers excellent oxidation control: Up to 39% better performance in the rigorous Volvo T-13 test compared with API CK-4 requirements. Good oxidation control helps to prevent oil thickening and harmful deposits in all areas of an engine.
Up to 97% less lead Corrosion
Shell Rimula R4 MV has demonstrated excellent corrosion control in the Cummins high-temperature corrosion bench test. The test is run at 135ºC for 168 hours and has been shown to correlate with corrosion-induced cam and bearing failures in the field. In the test, Shell Rimula R4 MV displayed up to 97% less lead corrosion than the API CK-4 limit.
Up to 39% lower Oil Consumption
Shell Rimula R4 MV demonstrates low oil consumption in the Caterpillar C13 test: up to 39% lower than the requirements of the Cummins CES 20086 specification. This results in increased equipment availability, less downtime and lower lubricant expenditure.
