Not only is it the most obvious thing that local operating units are managed and led by local staff, there is also a clear benefit for our Qatari staff, society and Qatar Shell. I am passionate about people development and will offer the right growth opportunities through personal coaching and through putting the best possible structures in place.
Improving our Business IS our Business – a great way for our Qataris to grow as leaders at all levels and drive our business to even greater success! As a Qatarisation champion I commit to supporting all my team, including individuals across Qatar Shell who are prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to achieve business performance improvement as part of ‘One Qatar Shell Team’
Qatarization is building local capacity within all sectors and discipline in effort reaching the national vision and becoming a knowledge economy. I am committed to pass knowledge to others either through coaching or mentorship as knowledge transfer is a key.
As Qatarization champion: I will be encouraging and supporting staff to continue their development and future careers to achieve targets and objectives at all levels in Qatar Shell’s organization.
I am excited by the Qatari talent I have working alongside me in Qatar Shell and am committed supporting every one of them to reach their full potential. I am and will continue to spend a significant part of my week on Qatarisation whether that is driving targets hard to deliver quality Qatarisation, ensuring folk are put into the right roles at the right times in their careers or just spending time interacting with, sponsoring, coaching and mentoring colleagues to help them become the best they can be.
I commit to providing all team members with challenging work and development opportunities, and if they aspire to it, opportunities that can ultimately set them on the path to becoming leaders. Success will be measured in many ways, but perhaps the most fulfilling for me as a Qatarisation Champion will be seeing a Qatari as the Head of Legal Qatar. I am aiming for that day.
I believe that localisation in Qatar Shell is not only fundamental to driving strong and sustainable business performance, but it is also the essence of growing a resilient and self-sufficient nation for the State of Qatar. I feel very proud to be a key contributor to QP’s, Shell’s and the SoQ’s Qatarisation vision - and my own aspiration is that individuals within Shell’s Qatari community and alumni are recognized as being the most competitive among their peers in the industry.
We aspire and committed to get Nationals as the main engine behind the Qatar Shell organization. I am personally committed to empower and investigate opportunities to my follow Qataris to turn this dream to reality.
I believe the most sustainable investment is the investment in people and our true legacy will be judged by the people we leave behind. As someone from this region, and having spent half of my Shell career in Qatar, I hope that I have made a small contribution to guide, empower and maybe inspire all those I came to know in Qatar, both Qatari and non-Qatari, to believe in the beauty of their dreams and to pursue these with passion and confidence.
People are our greatest resource and in Qatar we are fortunate to have access to some of the best and brightest talent anywhere in the world. In Qatar Shell we are passionate about developing employees at all levels of our organization so they grow as leaders in Shell, the energy industry as well as their community. As a Qatarisation champion I commit to empowering employees, providing challenging roles and creating an environment where people can be excellent.
In support of Qatar’s National Vision on Human Development, I will invest my personal energy in developing Qatari talents and advocate for their aspirations.
