Going with [unclear] came from University is a great transition because I find that those problem-solving skills apply right here in this department, but I also find that being on site in a place where I can see the plans and the visual is right there is a lot more helpful than just seeing things in textbooks.

There is a large emphasis on Qatar Shell on ensuring that work/life balance is present and making sure that my work responsibility doesn’t overtake my personal life. And whenever I do feel like the pressure does increase I can talk to my colleagues and my line manager to make sure that I have a healthy amount of work.

One of the distinct opportunities working in Qatar Shell is being able to work in international assignment. Specifically, what I learnt from my international assignment in The Netherlands was that you get to interact with subject matter experts from all over the globe. You got from New Zealand, you got from Australia, you got from Amsterdam, as well as people from Houston. And that level of network is absolutely valuable.

For me quality quality Qatarization is a commitment. It should come first from the employee which is the most important, second from the line manager. Also, the commitment is very important to recognize the output [?] and to provide the right coach and development. Under the theme of “Qatar’s Success Knows No Borders”, Qatar Shell recently held its Qatarization Celebration event hosted by Andrew Faulkner, Managing Director and Chairman.
