First Pearl GTL product off-take agreements signed
Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Qatar Shell GTL Limited (Shell) have signed two separate heads of agreements with Gulf Petroproducts Company E.C (GPC) and Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL) regarding supply of Gas to Liquids (GTL) Normal Paraffin from the Pearl GTL project in Qatar. These are the first agreements that refer to third party product off-take from the Pearl GTL project and represent an important milestone.

WOQOD and Shell team up to provide marine lubricants and services in Qatar; WOQOD to provide Shell marine lubes to Nakilat
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) and Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) today signed an agreement under which WOQOD will provide marine lubricants and technical services to Nakilat’s fleet of 25 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Carriers, currently under construction in Korea.

The signing was witnessed also by Mr. Xi Jinping, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China and His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs
World-Class Research Collaboration in Carbonate Reservoirs and Carbon Storage
London, 9 June 2008 – At a ceremony at Imperial College London, Qatar’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Ms. Linda Cook, Executive Director of Royal Dutch Shell plc, Dr Tidu Maini, Executive Chairman of Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), and Sir Roy Anderson, Rector Elect of Imperial College London launched a joint research collaboration that will focus on further understanding carbonate reservoirs, which constitute the vast majority of hydrocarbon reservoirs across the Middle East, and CO2 storage.
Qatar Petroleum and Shell open Pearl Village at Ras Laffan Industrial City
Doha, 25 May 2008 – At a ceremony at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC), Mr. Fahad Hamad Al-Mohannadi, General Manager of the Qatar Electricity and Water Company, acting on behalf of Qatar’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, officially opened Pearl Village, the accommodation complex for the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project. Also witnessing this important milestone was Ms. Linda Cook, Executive Director of Royal Dutch Shell, and a number of ambassadors from the home countries of the Pearl GTL workforce.
Shell Opens State-of-the-Art Research and Technology Centre at New Qatar Science and Technology Park
Doha, Qatar, 28 April 2008 – At a unique ceremony at the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), Qatar’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah officially opened Shell’s state-of-the-art research and technology facility. Also witnessing this important milestone was Malcolm Brinded, Shell’s Executive Director for Exploration and Production. The Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre (QSRTC) is part of Shell’s global research and technology organisation and has been operating out of a start-up location within Education City since 2005.
Qatargas and Shell to supply LNG to Dubai
Dubai, 20 April 2008: Qatargas and Shell today announced that they have signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The contract is for an approximate term of fifteen years.
