Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Shell signed an agreement tailored to further strengthen their professional learning and development collaboration. Mr. Ahmad Ali Al-Mawlawi, Director of Administration of QP, and Mr. Wael Sawan, Managing Director and Chairman of Qatar Shell Companies, signed the agreement, with the attendance of prominent representatives from both QP and Qatar Shell, at the official signing ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Doha. Through this formal agreement, QP employees will have continued access to learning courses offered by Shell Open University. Additionally, they will have access to SkillSoft, an on-line learning platform that includes more than 4,000 courses and books that address the learning needs and skill gaps of staff through virtual learning. These courses are applicable to all levels of the organization and cover all disciplines, such as business, finance, management, engineering, information technology, risk management, and health and safety.
The lower cost, lighter weight, ultra high channel seismic technology holds the potential to improve the search for oil and gas.
Qatar University partners with Qatar Shell to further strengthen joint collaboration in technology and R&D
Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Shell Research & Technology Centre (QSRTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen their long standing partnership, committing to greater collaboration in technology, innovation, and research and development, as well as offering greater opportunities for students and faculty.

Qatar Shell signs electric motor maintenance contracts with two local companies, Manweir and ABB Oryx
Two established local companies, Manweir and ABB Oryx have signed separate contracts with Qatar Shell to maintain the electric motors at the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) plant, the world’s largest GTL plant located in Ras Laffan Industrial City. Pearl GTL has approximately 4,500 electrical motors installed on the plant that need to be regularly inspected and maintained.
Qatar Shell announces new developments in the Flagship TAFAWOQ Project Management Centre of Excellence
During a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference hosted by the Ministry of Business and Trade, Qatar Shell announced two new developments associated with TAFAWOQ, a Project Management Centre of Excellence established in 2012 in partnership with Qatar Petroleum and Hamad bin Khalifa University.

Qatar University is to conduct a research project on the learning and development benefits for engineering students of participating in the Shell Eco-marathon. The project is to be the first in the world to assess the competition’s academic impact.
Qatar Shell awarded a contract to Chiyoda Almana Engineering (a joint venture of 51% Almana Trading and 49% Chiyoda Corporation) to conduct engineering and project management services at Pearl Gas-to-Liquids plant, the world’s largest and most innovative GTL facility jointly developed by Qatar Petroleum and Shell.

Following on the heels of the agreement signed between Qatar Shell and Qatar Development Bank earlier this year to provide local companies and manufacturers access to new business opportunities, Qatar Shell has unveiled specific new supply chain business opportunities for local companies.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, and his accompanying delegation were hosted in London on Sunday by senior executives of Shell, including Andy Brown, Director of Shell Upstream International and former Chairman of Qatar Shell.
